We are registered with Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a residential care home providing care for 50 residents.
Set in four acres of grounds, Harpwood has been especially designed for those less able, and offers wide corridors for easy access by wheelchair users, an easy to use lift, gentle stairways and plenty of room to wander freely between the lounges and sitting areas.
Outside, the grounds allow room to roam and, if you are a keen gardener, there is the opportunity for you to advise on the planting or even have your own garden area in one of the specially raised beds provided for your comfort.
Our rooms are tastefully decorated. We offer single rooms or double rooms for double or single occupancy with a choice of en-suite facilities. Whilst all rooms are well furnished, residents are welcome to bring their own furniture and other items to personalise their rooms to make them feel at home. All rooms have our nurse call system.
For frail residents, we have installed specialist baths and, other than the toilets in the en suite rooms, there are several toilets adapted for use by elderly, and a toilet for the visitors.
Our gardens outlook from two tastefully decorated lounges and a bistro style dining room. We encourage residents to use the lounges as often as possible to interact with other residents and visitors. Residents can invite their friends/ relatives for lunch or dinner.
The hairdressing salon is ideally located next to the Pink lounge. Our hairdresser comes twice a week.
We have an in house laundry managed by a dedicated person. Residents clothes are washed, dried and ironed daily. These are then neatly stacked or hung in residents wardrobes.
